The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in the 2027 general elections, Peter Obi, congratulated the Hausa community on their International Day anniversary in Katsina State.

Obi, in a statement, "Celebrating the Hausa Community and Its Contributions to Nigeria," indicated that as International Hausa Day, he warmly congratulate the Hausa community across Nigeria as they observe their Day in Daura, Katsina State.

He stated that the Hausa people have made significant and lasting contributions to the growth and development of the country, enriching Nigeria through their culture, traditions, enterprise, agriculture, scholarship, public service, and dedication to community.

According to Obi, "This celebration is not only a moment to honor a proud heritage but also an opportunity to reaffirm the bonds that unite us as Nigerians. Our diversity remains one of our greatest strengths, and our shared future depends on recognizing and respecting the contributions of every community."
He declared: "As you celebrate in Katsina, I wish you peace, prosperity, and a renewed sense of hope. May this occasion bolster our unity and inspire us to build a Nigeria where every citizen, regardless of ethnicity or background, has equal opportunities to flourish.

"Congratulations and best wishes to the Hausa community." - PO
