The military are closing up space against terrorists in North East Nigeria. Troops of Sector 2 Operation HADIN KAI, working alongside the Yobe State Hunters Group, arrested five suspected kidnappers. The intelligence-led operation took place at Jegalari Village, Fune Local Government Area, Yobe State.

The raid was carried out by soldiers of 233 Battalion deployed at Damaturu Military Cantonment. It followed credible intelligence on the movement and activities of the suspected criminal elements in the area.

During the operation, troops recovered several weapons and items. These included three locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, one locally made pistol, assorted ammunition, and four mobile phones believed to be connected to the suspects’ criminal activities.

The five suspects are currently in military custody, together with the recovered exhibits. Further investigation is ongoing to determine their involvement in kidnapping and other related crimes in the region.

Operation HADIN KAI said they remain committed to denying terrorists and other criminal elements freedom of action across the North East through sustained intelligence-driven operations. The military also urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious movements, or activities to the nearest security agency, noting that timely information from citizens is critical to protecting communities.
