Crisis rocks PDP in Ekiti state
The crisis within the People's Democratic Party in Ekiti state assumed a new dimension during the week with the announcement of the suspension of the Deputy Governorship candidate in the last gubernatorial election, Deji Ogunsakin.
The latest development has generated heated debate as both factions in the state claims their actions is to reposition the party for victory in the 2022 gubernatorial elections.
Musa Arogundade, a representative of the Stakeholders Forum, a faction that has been at daggers drawn with the state executive council called for a transparent Congress to usher in a new executive for the party in Ekiti state.
In his reaction, the State chairman of People's democratic party in Ekiti state, Gboyega Oguntuase described the suspension of Deji Ogunsakin as a joke.
He said the party's constitution is clear on procedures for disciplinary actions against members of the party.
