Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has appointed Omega Odunze as Special Assistant on Community Mobilisation, South East.

A statement from the Atiku Campaign Media indicated that The appointment reinforces the ADC Presidential candidate's commitment to grassroots engagement, inclusive participation, and strategic mobilisation across the South-East ahead of the 2027 Presidential Election.

The appointment of Odunze as Special Assistant, Community Mobilisation, South East, was backdated to be effective April 1, 2026.

According to the statement, "The appointment reflects the campaign's commitment to strengthening grassroots engagement, expanding strategic community outreach, and deepening partnerships across the South-East as part of a broader national effort to promote democratic participation, national unity, and people-centred development."

Odunze is from Imo State, an accomplished literary scholar, and the Chief Executive Officer of Khaimaenergy Ltd. He has built an extensive career in community development, humanitarian programming, peacebuilding, agricultural empowerment, and stakeholder engagement, the statement highlighted, in part.
