The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council will meet on Tuesday in Abuja to finalise preparations for the commencement of its campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election ahead of the 2027 general election.

The meeting, scheduled for 2pm at the campaign council’s headquarters on Herbert Macaulay Way in the Central Business District, will consider and adopt the campaign calendar ahead of the formal flag-off in Kaduna on Saturday, 24 October.

The council’s secretary and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, announced the meeting in an internal memorandum dated 18 October and addressed to members.
According to the memo, the meeting will formally begin the council’s collective assignment and deliberate on arrangements for the campaign’s commencement.
Attendance is restricted to the 134 members listed by the party, with only directors and secretaries of the various directorates invited.
Among those expected are Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke; Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo; and Uzodimma.
Other prominent members include Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who serve as the council’s first, second and third deputy vice chairmen, respectively.
Yobe State Governor Mala Buni and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin are among the officials assigned regional campaign leadership roles. Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole is the deputy director-general for mobilisation, while Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu hold deputy director-general positions for the South.
The council also includes governors tasked with coordinating the party’s presidential campaign in their respective states.
The Kaduna flag-off is expected to launch the APC’s nationwide campaign activities for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The meeting follows the inauguration of the campaign council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where Tinubu described himself as an “errand man” of the party and pledged to uphold its objectives, promises and manifesto.
The 2027 presidential election is scheduled for 16 January.
