A Couple, 17 Others paraded for Robbery and Cultism in Ogun

A couple along with 17 other suspects have been arrested for various offences since the beginning of the year till date by the Ogun state police
command for offences ranging from robbery, cultism and murder.

Correspondent kunle ojo reports that the Police Public Relations officer of the command, Dsp Muyiwa Adejobi who paraded the suspects
before Journalists said a couple was among some of the suspects arrested in connection with robbery.

Ogun State Police Command paraded a couple, Okon Ohinme, Blessing Sunday, and 17 other suspected criminals arrested for various offences
in the state since the beginning of the year.

The couple, who resided in Ogbere, Ijebu-East local government area of the state until their arrest, were found in possession of one
locally-made pistol and three live cartridges.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, who paraded 19 suspects at the police command headquarters, Eleweran,
Abeokuta, said a female neighbour of the couple, Kemi Osho, was also arrested adding that, four rifles allegedly stolen from security
operatives, three locally made pistols, live and expended cartridges, mobile phones, assorted charms and a sum of N255,000 were among the
exhibits recovered from the suspects.

He speaks further on the number of suspects arrested by the command and the level of investigation so far on their cases.

Adejobi added that four members of Buccaneer confraternity were arrested in Sagamu penultimate Monday when the Divisional Police
Officer in Sagamu received information that some suspected cultists were inside the bush behind Sagamu Local Government staff quarters
initiating new members.

He stressed that a combined team of policemen and vigilante group that raced to the scene, engaged the cultists in gun battle which resulted
resulted into the arrest of four of the members, while others escaped with their weapons.

While restating the determination of the command to control crime rate in 2014, Adejobi urged members of the public to cooperate with the
command by giving information that could lead to the arrest of criminal elements in the state.

Adejobi said the suspects would soon be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation by the command saying, no stone would be
left unturned in providing adequate security for the lives and property of people of the state.
