500 political office holders decamp to APC in Ekiti
About 500 political office holders in Ekiti State who served between 1999 and 2017 at the local government level have decamped to the All Progressives Party (APC).
They took the initiative with a promise to ensure that the APC wins the forthcoming presidential, national and state assemblies elections.
At a well-attended rally in Ado Ekiti, the former political office holders comprising former local government chairmen, vice chairmen, secretaries, councillors, advisers and constituency assistants, pledged to work for the progress of Ekiti state and to key into the developmental agenda of the Governor Kayode Fayemi administration
The decampees were received into the APC fold by the state Secretary, Mr Kayode Ogunsakin and publicity secretary, Hon Ade Ajayi.
Spokesman of the group, Kehinde Aduloju observed that the state governor, Dr kayode Fayemi has endeared himself to Ekiti people through his people-oriented policies and conduct since assumption of office in October this year.
He called for more support for the administration so that its lofty objectives could be realised for the good of Ekiti people.
They expressed their support on behalf of others for the APC administration in Ekiti and at the federal level and promised to work for the party success in the 2019 general elections.
The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adeniran Alagbada, who also served as a councillor between 2004 -2007 praised the decampees for their bold step and promised that the party will ensure that they do not regret their decision.
Rt Hon Alagbada who described Dr Fayemi as a man of integrity who will always act within the tenet of democracy promised that the government will always promote their welfare and the welfare of all Ekiti people in general.
The APC publicity secretary Hon Ade Ajayi promised that the party will not discriminate against the new members.
