The Imole Campaign Council in Osun State has pledged to mobilise 1.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election following Governor Ademola Adeleke’s appointment as the state coordinator of the president’s campaign council.
The council’s Director-General, Senator Olalere Oyewumi, made the pledge in a statement on Tuesday, welcoming Adeleke’s inclusion in the revised All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council list.
Oyewumi said the governor’s appointment reflected confidence in his ability to mobilise support for Tinubu in Osun, promising that the president would not be disappointed.
“The appointment is a well-deserved one. We assure the President that his confidence in the ability of Governor Adeleke to deliver Osun in the presidential election will not be misplaced,” he said.
“We promise the President, just like Governor Adeleke said some time ago, that we will deliver 1.5 million votes to ensure his victory in the coming presidential election.”
The council also urged Osun residents to support Adeleke, linking the governor’s political fortunes to Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
“A vote for President Tinubu is a support for Governor Adeleke,” it said, urging residents to trust the governor to fulfil his campaign promises.
Adeleke, who won the 2026 Osun governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Ogunwole.
He polled 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes.
The revised presidential campaign council list names Tinubu as chairman, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, as vice-chairmen.
Senator Abdulaziz Yari was named Director-General, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as secretary. Other prominent members include FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The council also lists governors and political figures as campaign coordinators across the six geopolitical zones and states as the APC steps up preparations for the 2027 general election.
