Woman regains sight during Army medical outreach

An aged woman identified simply as Margaret Okere has regained her sight after undergoing examination during the Nigerian Army medical outreach at Umuokwa community, Igboh-Etche, Etche local government area of Rivers state.


Galaxy Television gathered that the Nigerian Army conducted educational and medical outreach programme in host communities in the continuation of ‘Exercise Crocodile Smile 2'.

Okere told newsmen during the programme that she had not been able to see for a long time while other beneficiaries disclosed their joy for the program.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen, Tukur Buratai, who was represented by the Chief of Logistics (Army), Maj.-Gen. Rogers Nicholas said that the outreach was a civic responsibility to create smooth relationship with host communities.

Buratai said that the army had always carried out positive activities in any community they were to ensure that the people were comfortable.

The Chief Of Army Staff however said that the rumoured military vaccine was a creation of miscreants and disloyal citizens who go about tarnishing the image of the country and the army, appealing to student to continue their studies with no fear.
