Oyo demands refund of N33B

The Oyo State Government has demanded from the federal government a refund of N33b expended on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of some federal roads within the state. 


Governor Abiola Ajimobi while receiving the Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Surveyor Suleiman Hassan Zarma and his delegation who were on a one-day working tour of Federal Government projects in the state emphasized the need for massive infrastructural development across the country.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Ajimobi who-who spoke through the Secretary to the State Government, Olalekan Alli, noted that the first four years of the current administration in the state was dedicated to road construction and rehabilitation.

The governor advocated for the maintenance of all federal roads in states of the federation to be handed over to state governments, while funds meant for such projects should be released to state governments through the ministry in charge. 

Earlier, the Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Surveyor Suleiman Hassan Zarma, said the Federal Government was committed to completing all road projects across the country.

He solicited the support and cooperation of state governments for the timely completion of all federal projects across Nigeria.
