Ndi-Igbo chieftain condemns threat on Igbos
Chieftain and immediate past national publicity secretary of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Barr. Okpalaukwu Okpalaezeukwu has condemned the recent statement emanating from the north, asking the Igbo people to evacuate the region.
According to Okpalaukwu the statement is a threat to the national unity of the country and should be investigated and it propagators should be made to face the law.
The Ohaneze Ndi Igbo chieftain in an interview with Galaxy television said despite the agitation in the southeast by a certain section of the Igbos, there has never been a time when the Igbos ask any of the non-indigenes out of their states.
He maintained that Nigeria is a country that has come thus this far and should remain one if it must continue to earn it respects.
Though the threat was welcomed by mostly the agitating Igbos who feels it's an automatic yes to their calls for the actualization of a sovereign state of Biafra.
However, Okpalaeze in his reaction further said the forces against the unity of Nigeria are not within but outside. He discloses that they are only using some of it sons and daughters as agents.
He called on the Igbos in the north not to entertain fear, advising them to remain law-abiding and go on with their normal businesses.
