Man slumps, dies during argument
A middle-aged vulcanizer identified simply as Gbenga Babatunde, 36, has been said to have collapsed and died during an argument at a drinking joint in Ondo town, Ondo State.
Gbenga, who had earlier visited the joint with his friends, was said to have died during an argument that ensued between him and the owner of the joint.
According to an eyewitness report, Gbenga slumped during the heated argument with the shop owner, while his friends rushed him in a deliberate attempt to revive him, although all their efforts were proved abortive as the deceased gave up the ghost on the spot.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Mr. Femi Joseph, who confirmed the incident, said the deceased slumped while he was drinking at the drinking joint.
He said, “It was a very unfortunate incident. The man slumped and died when he was drinking at the joint but his family had come to us that they were not interested in taking any legal action on the matter and we have released the corpse to them.”
