The Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese most Rev Stephen Dami Mamza has warned that the crisis situation must never be allowed to deteriorate to a level of self destruction capable of bringing about irreparable and irreversible damage of lives and properties in the country.

Bishop Mamza disclosed this during the celebration of this year's independence day in St Theresa cathedral Yola the Adamawa State capital.

The Bishop said government must give heed to the wise councils coming across board both within and outside the nation.

According to him government must shun the temptation of resorting to a kind of high handed handling of crisis with the use of force in a dictatorial manner.

During the celebration of the Nigeria's Independence there were songs and recitation of national anthem to served as a symbol of unity.
