Ex-militants receive protection uniforms

Ex-militant youths in their hundreds from Niger Delta states today stormed the city of Warri in Delta state, to receive uniforms for the proposed federal government pipeline surveillance jobs earmarked for ten thousand youths in the region.

The youths under the umbrella body of  Host Communities Producing Oil and Gas in Niger Delta, took their turn to sign for uniforms awaiting resumption.

Speaking at a brief ceremony with state representatives, the National Chairman of HOSTCOM Dr. Mike Emu said the relative peace is as a result of the proposed youth employment.

On their part, the Abia and Cross Rivers state commissioners for petroleum and youth development said it will bring development to the region.

It will be recalled that the federal government had promised to employ ten thousand ex-militants to protect pipelines in Niger Delta, as a means of sustaining the increased oil production in the region.
