Edo police parades criminal suspects

About 59 persons arrested for various crime offenses have being paraded by the Edo state Police command.


HaliruGwandu, the state commissioner of police, while addressing journalists during the parade at the command headquarters in Benin, said all the suspects will be charged to court, adding that the command would do everything possible to sanitize the systems from crime.

The suspects paraded were arrested in armed robbery, cultism, kidnapping, murder and other related crimes scenes in the last couple of weeks in the state.

The police commissioner said a lecturer from Ambrose Ali University in Ekpoma, was caught with fire-arm, regretting the kind of foundation he is laying for the future generation. He said all those caught will be prosecuted.
Some of the suspected criminals who spoke to journalists on their level of involvement confessed to their crimes particularly how they carry out the acts of armed robbery.

The police commissioner, used the occasion to admonish parents, care-givers and even the youth to warn their children, wards to desist from crime and other social vices as it does not pay.

Items recovered from the suspects ranges from arms and ammunition, phones money among others.
