He gave the ultimatum at the police headquarters in Asaba, the state capital while reading out a statement by the command to correspondents on measures to achieve the Inspector General of police order to mop up arms in the country.

Speaking on the ultimatum which took effect on the first of March, the Delta police commissioner said the ultimatum is for the general public and groups bearing arms illegally.

On the allegation of extortion by policemen in the state, the CP calls for a proper investigation by journalists in dealing with erring policemen.

Meanwhile, the state police command had last week paraded various suspects as thousands of ammunition and arms were recovered.
