Akwa Ibom Police command welcomes new CP
The new commissioner of police in Akwa Ibom state police command, John Bassey Abang has assured that his administration will engender professionalism, adherence to the rule of law and fundamental human right of the citizens in the state.

Addressing journalists at the state police command in Ikot Akpanabia, the commissioner of police maintained he will focus on intelligence-led policing with increase surveillance across the state and forge good synergy with the sister security agencies in the state as well as residents of the state for effective policing in line with global policing standards.
 
On the issue of cultism and political violence, the CP warned that his administration will have zero tolerance for politicians and criminals who impede the safety and comfort of residents and assured of free playing ground for registered political parties in the state ahead 2019 general election.
 
John Bassey Abang the 24th commissioners of police in Akwa Ibom state replaced Adeyemi ogunjemiliusi who has been promoted to the rank of an assistant Inspector General of police in charge of zone 6 Calabar.
