Senator Chides Wike, Cautions Governors

A former Member of the National Assembly, represented Akwa Ibom North East, Senator Ita Enang, on the sideline of an event in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, repudiated the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesome Wike, for building quarters for the Judiciary in the FCT. Enang cautioned the 36 governors across the federation against withholding allocations of other arms of government, namely, the judiciary and the legislature. The senator, specifically, called out the FCT Minister, Nyesome Wike, for building quarters for the Judiciary in the Federal Capital Territory. He asserted that the action contravenes the law, noting that, allocation meant for the Judiciary should be released to the arm, directly. Enang enjoined the governors and the FCT minister to emulate President Bola Tinubu and ensure that allocations meant for each Arm of Government in their state are released to them.
