The Nigerian Senate has adjourned plenary to Wednesday in honor of late Plateau South Senator, Ignatius Longjan who died on Monday.

Moving a motion to that effect, Senate Leader, Yahaya Abdullahi, said the passing of Senator Longjan was a great loss to Nigeria.

Presiding over Tuesday's plenary, Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege commiserated with the family of the deceased and the government and people of Plateau State over the tragic loss.

Senate subsequently observed a minute silence in honor of the 75-year-old lawmaker.

In a chat with journalists, at the end of plenary, a cross-section of Senators expressed shock following the passing of yet another senator.

At the next legislative sitting which is Wednesday the 12th of February, the Senate will hold a valedictory session for Benjamin Uwajumogu who died December 19, 2019.
