The Chairman association of head teachers in Nigeria, Portharcourt Branch (AOPSHON) and the head mistress St Andrews model primary school block 2, Lady Irene Nkangwung has assured parents and guardians that normal academic activities have continued in government owned schools in the state.

Lady Irene who gave the assurance shortly after inspecting some schools in Port Harcourt said, students and pupils are gradually returning back to school after the rumoured vaccination of monkey pox on students by military personnel and also expressed displeasure over the destruction of some school properties during the Incident.

She further called on parents to bring back their wards to school as measures have been put in place to prevent a re-occurence of the incident.

Our correspondent Converter Elisha reports that turn-out of students was low at model secondary school, Rumueme in obio-Akpor local government area and many other schools in the State capital.
