A retired broadcaster and former staff member of Ogun State Television, Mrs. Kitan Oyesiku, popularly known as "Aunty Kitan," and her security guard have been found murdered in a suspected home invasion in the Kobape area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Sunday, June 21, 2026.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed that the case was reported at the Owode Egba Police Division by a resident, who noticed suspicious activities.

He said detectives discovered signs of forced entry, while the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, has directed an intensive investigation and expanded intelligence operations to apprehend those responsible.

The police command sympathized with the family of the deceased, the Ogun State Television family, and the media community, and appealed to residents to remain calm and provide useful information to support the investigation.

The incident has thrown the Kobape community into mourning, with residents calling for improved security and the swift arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators.
