The Police Service Commission (PSC) has deployed four commissioners of police to Enugu, Plateau, Nasarawa and Ondo states as part of changes to strengthen police leadership across the country.
The appointments followed interviews conducted by the commission to assess the officers' suitability and fitness for their new assignments.
Under the deployment approved on Thursday at the commission's headquarters in Abuja, CP Fidelis Ogarabe was appointed Commissioner of Police for Enugu State.

Ogarabe, who previously headed the INTERPOL Annex in Lagos, will be joined by CP Sunday J. A. Okoebor, who has been posted to Plateau State.
Okoebor was formerly the Commissioner of Police in charge of Police Accounts and Budget at the Force Headquarters.
Also deployed are CP Sheikh Mohammed Danko, former Commissioner of Police at the Force Intelligence Annex, Lagos, who will head the Nasarawa State Command, and CP Johnson Ayodeji Babalola, formerly of the Special Inquiry Unit at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, who has been posted to Ondo State.
The commission said the appointments were made in accordance with its constitutional responsibilities.
In a statement signed by its Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Kalu, the PSC said the appointments were made in line with its constitutional mandate.
The commission's chairman, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu, said the deployments were backed by Section 215(1)(b) of the 1999 Constitution, which empowers the PSC to appoint commissioners of police for each state and the Federal Capital Territory.
Argungu, who was represented by a board member, Justice Paul Adamu Galumje (retd.), said the officers had been found worthy in learning and character.
He urged the newly appointed commissioners to discharge their duties with impartiality and uphold the standards expected of their offices.
