Ogun state House of Assembly has asked the executive arm of the state to come up with an executive bill that will curtail the menace of quackery in the nursing profession.

This is coming after the state government had enacted an anti-kidnapping law; the Assembly promised to give such bill, if presented before it, an accelerated consideration as it affects the masses’ state of health.

The Chairman, House Committee on Health, Honourable Nurudeen Aina, made the disclosure at the 2017 international nurses' week in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The state commissioner for Health, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye, represented by the Permanent secretary, Dr. Olatunde Aigoro corroborated the legislators, adding that the state ministry is working towards perfecting the content of the bill.

The state chairman of the association, Comrade Roseline Solarin, lamented that the activities of quacks have been hindering the progress of the profession in the state.

She called the cooperation of the government and well-meaning Nigerians towards ridding the state of quacks.
