Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and his counterpart from Kwara State, Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman have emphasized the need for rapid infrastructural development for socio-economic growth.

They made the appeal in Ogbomosho on Wednesday during the flag off of the 76.67km Ogbomoso- Fapote -Iseyin road, which has now been named after the former Governor of Oyo State, Late Adebayo Alao-Akala.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that Makinde and his visitor noted that an effective road network remains the only antidote to a viable economy adding that all hands must be on deck in this direction.

Makinde said his administration would not relent in creating an effective road network with a view to developing all the zones in the state while the Kwara State Governor promised continuous collaboration with Makinde on all fronts to improve a lot of the people.

Some community leaders and other guests at the event lauded the initiative of the state government in the area of infrastructural development while others stressed the need for local Government Councils to raise up to their responsibilities for rapid development.
