The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) has reaffirmed his commitment to the education of officers’ children, improving the welfare of personnel and their families.

Marwa gave the assurance on Friday, 30th October 2026, during a working visit to the newly launched pioneer NDLEA Command School at the Agency’s Barracks in Yola, Adamawa State, where he inspected the school facilities and interacted with pupils, students and members of staff.

Addressing the students, the NDLEA boss charged them to embrace discipline, punctuality and academic excellence, stressing that these values are essential to their success and future aspirations.

He urged them to always be punctual in school, take their studies seriously, read diligently and work hard to pass their examinations. He also reminded them of the importance of worshipping God, obeying their parents and teachers, while making the avoidance of illicit drugs a non-negotiable part of their lives.

The Chairman assured that he would continue to support the development of the pioneer school to ensure that it provides quality education and becomes one of the leading schools in the country. He noted that the establishment of the institution reflects the Agency’s commitment to creating opportunities for the children of its personnel to access quality education within their immediate community.

During the visit, Marwa also interacted with members of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association and others residing in the barracks.

The women expressed appreciation to the Chairman for bringing the pioneer Command School to the barracks, describing the initiative as a significant investment in the education and future of their children. They also acknowledged his leadership strides and the transformation recorded in the Agency under his watch.

Responding, Marwa thanked them for their kind words and show of support, assuring them that the welfare of officers and their families would continue to receive attention under his leadership.

He further disclosed that plans were already at an advanced stage towards the inauguration of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association, which would provide a formal platform for the wives of officers to organise, collaborate and contribute meaningfully to the welfare and well-being of the NDLEA family.

The Chairman, who was accompanied on the visit by the Zone 2 Commander, ACGN Ishaku Yusuf Kwajafa, and other senior officers of the Agency, reiterated his commitment to initiatives that strengthen the institution, support personnel and promote the well-being of their families.

The working visit provided an opportunity for the Chairman to assess the progress of the newly established school, engage directly with its immediate community and reaffirm the Agency’s commitment to education, personnel welfare and institutional development.
