Property worth millions of naira has been razed by an early morning inferno at Oke Adu market in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

It was gathered that the inferno which started around 2 am this morning razed six shops where various goods were destroyed.

Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that although the cause of the incident is yet to be determined, eyewitness account has it that the incident happened when officials of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company restored power supply to the area.

They added that all efforts to salvage property from the effected shops proved abortive while officers of the state fire service could not reach the scene on time.

Some of the victims decried the loss calling on Governor Makinde to come to their aids claiming that their means livelihood had been lost to the inferno.
