FG Pacifies Organized Labour With 40% Allowance

The Federal Government may be pacifying the Organized Labour with the approval of 40% peculiar allowance for federal civil servants after a meeting, chaired by Head of Civil Service, Esther Walson-Jack, in Abuja.

About 144,766 federal civil servants would benefit from the allowance under the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure.

The approved allowance excluded Workers on other salary structures, including doctors, lecturers, and security personnel. The FG approved the allowance to avert the planned nationwide strike of Labour.
