The renown legal practitioner, Olisa Agbakoba SAN, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Executive Order 9 which mandate direct remission of oil and gas revenue to the Federation Account. Agbakoba charged the government to continue to block every loop hole where the country's funds are being syphoned for the economy of the nation to improve.
Olisa Agbakoba, in media interaction in Lagos, expressed that one of the good moves the present government has made is the Executive Order compelling direct payment of every business transaction of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited to the Federation Account.
He said while the country is making a lot of money through oil exploration, Nigeria still go about borrowing to finance its budget, while NNPCL as a government agency, deducts approximately 60% to 66% of gross oil revenues.
On the public outcry over electoral reform and real time uploading of electoral results, Olisa Agbakoba said Nigeria political class lacks ideology and solely relies on propaganda and undue solidarity.
He said Nigeria needs politicians that have solutions to the numerous problems in the country, saying, but the present crop of politicians lack idea.
