Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has inaugurated a 13-member State Working Committee (SWC) of the National Agricultural Growth Scheme (NAGS), tagged AGRO POCKET, with an assurance that the state would work towards producing enough for local consumption and export.

Speaking during the inauguration in Abeokuta, Abiodun said his administration was committed to developing the agricultural sector due to its revenue and employment generation potential, as well as food security and poverty alleviation. He stated that the target of the state government was to produce enough food to attain self-sufficiency and make it available to states as well as export in a short and long term.

Responding on behalf of the members, Olota of Ota, applauded the federal government and the governor for driving the process, said the step was capable of bringing down inflation and increasing food production in the country, pledging to work towards the success of the programme in the State.
