The remains of the late Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari was laid to rest today with some government officials present to witness the brief ceremony.

The burial rite was performed after the remains of the former chief of staff arrived Abuja Saturday morning, from Lagos.

After funeral prayers by Muslim faithful, the body was conveyed to the Gudu cemetery where his body was finally laid to rest.

Minister of communication and digital economy, Isha Pantami who offered ‘Duau janaza’ prayers for the dead, at the graveside, described the late foremost presidential aide as a good Muslim who led a good life.

Pantami maintained that his death was a good omen since it occurred on Friday.

Other government officials who attended the burial ceremony described the late chief of staff, as an articulate and intelligent officer who was dedicated to his duties.

The officials also advised Nigerians to keep to the advisories of the NCDC and the ministry of health on the fight against the dreaded COVID-19 to avoid being infected.

Correspondent Nnabuchi Okey Nnabuchi who covered the ceremony for Galaxy TV reports that Mallam Kyari died on Friday night after a battle with the raving coronavirus to which he tested positive, late last month.
