Pastor Bolaji Idowu has advised singles to be wary of relationships that remain undefined for long periods, arguing that genuine love should come with a willingness to commit.

While speaking on relationships, the pastor said people should not settle for partners who keep them uncertain about the relationship's future.

According to him, commitment is a natural part of genuine love, particularly when a relationship has progressed to the point where marriage is being considered.

“When there’s love, there’s commitment,” he said, questioning the practice of dating indefinitely under the excuse of waiting to see how the relationship develops.

He also criticised situations where men propose to women but leave them waiting for several years without taking further steps towards marriage.

“You will not use ring to imprison her and say, ‘I’ve engaged her ’; you’ve engaged her for five years. What should you do with that?” he asked.

Pastor Bolaji further argued that uncertainty about a relationship's direction can signal that one partner is not fully invested.

He said when someone is asked where a relationship is headed and responds with uncertainty, it raises questions about the person's intentions.

“When you ask someone, ‘What are we doing?’ and they say, ‘I’m not sure,’ they don’t love you. Why? Anywhere there is love, there’s what? Commitment,” he stated.

He also questioned the common response, “Let’s see how it goes,” asking what such an arrangement ultimately means for the people involved.

The pastor concluded by suggesting that women also contribute to the problem when they continue accepting relationships without clear intentions or commitment from their partners. @Bukola GALAXY
