The Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, has urged drug dealers in Ogbete, Enugu, to improve how they source, store, and distribute medicines.
She warned against selling expired drugs, altering expiry dates, and buying from unauthorised suppliers, while calling for greater use of NAFDAC-registered products.
NAFDAC says it removed 7,210 fake, substandard, and non-compliant products between May and July.
The agency is now tightening its focus on those handling these medicines before they reach consumers.
The move comes days after Adeyeye came under fire on September 7 for laughing when asked about calls for her resignation over concerns about fake and substandard products.
