Despite the ongoing demolition of illegal structures obstructing water channels by the Delta state government in preventing flooding , an overnight downpour have sacked residents of two Delta communities namely Agaga and Walter Odeli, all in Warri South local government area of the state.

Our Correspondent visited the communities and saw residents relocating, while vehicles struggle through the flooded streets where residential houses and the  health centre have been submerged by flood.

Speaking on the effect of the flood, the residents lament the transportation effect, and appeal to the state government to come to their aid.

Other residents who spoke lamented the effect on their business, and call on the state environment commissioner Mr Frank  Omare to intervene by re-opening water drains in the community.

Meanwhile, some residents have now resorted to moving with canoes in their communities as a result of the flood, while the elderly were relocated to higher grounds.
