The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has said the non-payment of October 2026 salaries to some members resulted from failed payment transactions affecting Fidelity Bank account holders, reportedly due to a possible system upgrade at the bank at the time of payment.

NARD said this in a statement on Monday, citing findings from the Federal Ministry of Finance and IPPIS

"We sincerely empathise with our affected colleagues, particularly at a time when pressing financial obligations, including school fees, house rents and other family responsibilities, must be met. We understand the hardship and frustration this unfortunate development has caused.

"We wish to reassure affected members that the NARD leadership has escalated the matter to the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and the Federal Ministry of Finance.

"Following our engagements, IPPIS will reprocess the failed salary payments to ensure that affected members receive their entitlements.

"We shall continue to follow up until the payments are successfully completed. Further updates will be communicated as progress is made.

"We appreciate your patience and understanding while assuring you of our unwavering commitment to protecting your welfare," NARD said.
