Lanre Alewilese warns the public against a viral fundraiser purportedly seeking donations for late gospel singer Toluwanisings’ family.

A friend and colleague of late Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has warned the public against a viral fundraising appeal purportedly seeking financial support for the singer’s wife and children.

Lanre Alewilese, a fellow gospel singer, disowned the appeal after a fundraising flyer bearing Toluwanisings’ photograph began circulating on social media.

In a disclaimer shared online, Alewilese urged members of the public to report the page circulating the appeal, stressing that any legitimate announcement of such a fundraiser would come from Toluwanisings’ official Instagram account.

He wrote: “Disclaimer !!! This is not true please. Please let’s report this page massively. If at all something like this will come up it will be from @toluwanisings page. Thank you.”

The warning comes as fans and members of the gospel music community continue to mourn the singer.

Members of the public have been urged to verify fundraising appeals through Toluwanisings’ official platform before making donations, rather than relying on unverified social media posts.
