Veteran Nigerian actor and filmmaker Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has been named keynote speaker for the sixth International Peace Anyiam-Osigwe Nigeria Digital Content Regulation Conference.
The conference, organised by the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), will be held from November 18 to 19, 2026, at the MUSON Centre in Onikan, Lagos.
RMD will become the first male motion-picture practitioner to deliver the keynote address at the annual event. Previous keynote speakers include media entrepreneur Mo Abudu in 2024 and filmmaker Bolanle Austen-Peters in 2025.
The 2026 conference is themed “Film and Content Production in the Digital Era: Balancing Regulation and Innovation".
It will bring together filmmakers, content creators, streaming platforms, distributors, policymakers and other industry stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Nigeria’s evolving digital content industry.
Key discussion areas are expected to include streaming platforms, content monetisation, intellectual property protection, digital safety and the need to balance regulation with creative freedom.
NFVCB Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Shaibu Husseini, said RMD’s experience across entertainment, business and public service made him well suited to lead discussions on the future of Nigeria’s creative industries.
The conference honours the legacy of the late filmmaker Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, founder of the Africa Movie Academy Awards, and provides a platform for conversations on film and digital content regulation.
RMD has worked across film, television, journalism and public service for more than three decades. He also served as Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism.
