IELTS candidates in Nigeria will no longer take the test at the MOD test centre following changes to test delivery arrangements announced by IDP IELTS.
The change took effect on October 1, 2026, with testing continuing through IDP IELTS Nigeria’s established network of test centres across the country.
IDP said candidates would continue to have access to various test dates and locations despite the change.
It also clarified that the development would not affect the validity or recognition of IELTS results previously issued through the MOD test centre.
Candidates have been advised to rely on official IDP IELTS channels for information on available test dates, bookings, preparation materials and support.
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English.
IELTS is recognised by more than 13,500 organisations worldwide and records over 3.5 million tests annually in more than 140 countries.
IDP Education, one of the co-owners of IELTS, said it would continue supporting candidates seeking international education and English-language certification through its testing network in Nigeria.
The organisation urged prospective candidates to check its official channels for the latest information before booking their tests.
