The Federal Ministry of Education has urged Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Desk Officers in Federal Tertiary Institutions to prioritise public interest, affordability and improved learning outcomes, stressing that education partnerships must deliver social value rather than focus solely on profit.
The Director overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mrs Folake David, made this call at the Two-Day Annual PPP Forum for Desk Officers, held from November 4 to 5, 2026, at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Abuja.
Organised in collaboration with the Nigerian Institute of Infrastructure and Public-Private Partnership, the forum focused on bridging the gap between policy, investment and sustainable implementation.

Dr David urged participants to identify viable opportunities, develop bankable proposals and engage credible investors, noting that projects students cannot afford cannot be considered successful.
Representing the Director-General of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, Mr Akwu Okolo disclosed that PPP project review processes had been reduced from approximately 60 days to seven days. He also highlighted 13 PPP guidelines issued by the Commission.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to transparent, accountable and value-driven partnerships that will strengthen educational infrastructure and support ongoing reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
