Rivers Communities Urged to Take Ownership of Primary Healthcare Centres
Health authorities in Rivers State have called on residents of host communities to take ownership of healthcare facilities in their domains to improve service delivery.
The authorities, at a stakeholders' Town Hall Meeting organized to foster dialogue between host communities, healthcare providers, and government agencies, emphasized the imperatives of collaboration among all stakeholders to strengthen primary healthcare services in Rivers State.
The State Coordinator, NPHCDA, Dorcas Philips, emphasized that the engagement was designed to provide residents with an opportunity to voice concerns, make suggestions and contribute ideas on how healthcare centers can better serve their communities.
The officials encouraged participants to openly discuss challenges they encounter at healthcare centers, assuring them that feedback gathered during the session would help shape future policies and service improvements.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by health authorities to work closely with communities in delivering accessible, effective, and people-centered primary healthcare services across the state.
