Commissioner debunks politically motivated projects
The Delta state commissioner for works, Mr. James Augoye has debunked the allegation that he slowed down his promised inspection of completed roads without drainage for political reasons.
He made the disclosure while inspecting the affected roads within Warri metropolis where residents have been complaining of abandoned water channel on a daily basis.
Fielding questions from newsmen after inspecting the roads and ongoing water channels construction, the works commissioner debunked the allegation.
He stressed that the governor will keep his promise of completing road projects before the 2019 elections.
It will be recalled that the opposition party APC had accused the state government of using road inspection to gain cheap political points, while also condemning the government for constructing sub-standard roads without drainage.
