Group decries threat to democracy
The Conference of Civil Society Groups in Nigeria has appealed to the federal government to as a matter of urgency address all factors threatening Democratic institution in the country.

The chairman of the group in Oyo state, Comrade Kunle Fajembola while speaking in Ibadan at a symposium on challenges facing Democratic institution in Nigeria identified corruption, insecurity, industrial disputes among others as factors militating against the fragile democracy in the country.

He charged the Buhari-led administration to ensure the creation of jobs for the unemployed, boost agricultural production and curtails the excesses of the national assembly.

On his part, a legal practitioner, Lasun Olojede maintained that restructuring is the only panacea for socioeconomic and political development in the country.

Other speakers at the symposium appealed to the federal government to put in place policies that will address the increasing level of poverty and hunger in the land.
