Switzerland held their nerve to reach the World Cup quarter-finals after beating Colombia 4-3 on penalties. Both teams ended the match at regulation time in a 0-0, after over 120 minutes which included extra time. Borussia Dortmund Goalkeeper, Gregor Kobel, was named FIFA Man of the Match for his crucial saves in regulation and the penalty shootouts.

Switzerland will be playing Argentina in the quarter final.
