A fire outbreak has razed the control engine room of the Delta state police command headquarters in Asaba. 

The fire which started around 2:30 pm destroyed part of the control room before men of the Delta state fire service arrived and put out the fire. 

Journalists were prevented from gaining access to the command while it lasted, while a statement made available to newsmen by the state police spokesman Dafe Bright, said the fire could be as a result of electrical sparks, while also calling on residents to disregard any rumour concerning the outbreak as the investigation continues.
