The 34-year-old announced her retirement from international football on Friday in a statement published on her official Instagram account.
Ohale earned 86 caps for Nigeria and featured at seven WAFCON tournaments during her international career, which began with her ambition to wear the national colours and ended with five African titles.
She said the decision to retire was difficult but described her time with the Super Falcons as a career filled with gratitude and memorable moments.
Ohale was part of the Nigerian teams that dominated the continental competition, winning five WAFCON titles, while also featuring at four editions of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Reflecting on her international career, she said the significance of representing Nigeria went beyond the number of appearances and trophies won.
The defender recalled the emotions, celebrations, difficult moments, victories, defeats, friendships and sacrifices associated with playing for the country.
Ohale, who currently plays for Mexican Liga MX Femenil club Pachuca Femenil, also thanked her teammates, coaches, support staff, family, friends and the Nigeria Football Federation for their roles in her career.
She also expressed appreciation to Nigerian fans for supporting the Super Falcons through victories and difficult periods.
The defender said she was retiring without regrets and regarded the opportunity to serve Nigeria as the greatest achievement of her football career.
Ohale added that although she was ending her international playing career, her connection with Nigeria would remain.
Her international record stands at 86 caps, four World Cup appearances, seven WAFCON appearances and five WAFCON titles.
