NBA: Kevin Durant Dominates in Toronto thunder

Kevin Durant scored 51 points as the Oklahoma City Thunder finally battled past the Toronto Raptors in second overtime. But the win was marred by an injury scare for Russell Westbrook.

The teams were locked at 96-96 after regulation and shared the first overtime period 11-11. The Thunder then trailed by eight points with 49 seconds left in the second additional period but three-pointers from Durant and Derek Fisher cut the deficit before the former drained one from 31 feet with one second left on the clock.

"We had to get out of there, I wasn't trying to go to another overtime," Durant told nba.com afterwards. "It looked good when it left my hands and God guided that thing in the basket. That was the craziest game I've ever been a part of."

The downside was Westbrook's exit in the third period. The guard collided with Kyle Lowry and suffered a bang on the same knee he had surgery on in December, though he was reportedly free of pain after the game.

OKC remain a game and a half behind San Antonio in the race for the NBA Western Conference's top play-off seeding after the Spurs strolled past the Sacramento Kings 99-79.

A 23-14 second period gave the conference pace-setters a 10-point half-time lead and the second half followed a similar pattern.

Marco Belinelli's 17 points was the highest of six double-figure totals for Spurs players, including Tiago Splitter's 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Eastern Conference's runaway top two also both won, with the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat seeing off the Chicago Bulls and Memphis Grizzlies respectively.

Paul George's triple-double - 10 points, 10 assists and 12 rebounds - led the Pacers to a 91-79 win while Miami won 91-86 with a run of 11 unanswered points during the fourth quarter.

With LeBron James (15 points), Chris Bosh (11) and Dwyane Wade (14) below their best, it was left to Ray Allen to lead the way with 18 points.

Toronto and Chicago's defeats allowed the Brooklyn Nets to close the gap in the race for the third seed with a 114-98 win over the Boston Celtics.

Joe Johnson top-scored with 27 points while Mason Plumlee provided the night's highlight-reel play with a thunderous first-quarter dunk on his way to 18 points. Avery Bradley had 28 for Boston.

Amar'e Stoudemire had 22 points and 10 rebounds as the New York Knicks inflicted a 23rd successive loss on the Philadelphia 76ers, who came within a point of halting their slide towards a potential NBA record but lost 93-92.

The 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers set the league's longest ever losing run, 26 games.

Anthony Davis contributed 34 points and 11 rebounds to the New Orleans' Pelicans' 111-105 win over the Atlanta Hawks while the Washington Wizards' John Wall tormented the Los Angeles Lakers with 28 points and 14 assists in a 117-107 win.

The Dallas Mavericks beat the Denver Nuggets 122-106 while the Phoenix Suns saw off the Detroit Pistons 98-92.
