Imama Amapakabo on Tuesday said he should not blamed for Enugu Rangers’ poor run of form this season. Rangers, who are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, are in danger of being kicked out of the CAF Confederation Cup after they were held to a  2-2 draw by Zambian club Zesco United in their first leg fixture in Enugu on Sunday.

Amapakabo,  who  led  the Flying Antelopes to the  domestic league  title last year — the club’s first in 32 years – was sacked by the club on Monday.

The former junior international goalkeeper lamented   the management of the team failed to build on the success recorded  by Rangers last season. He  revealed that the plots of land  the Enugu State Government promised  the players and coaches  for winning the league had  not been given them.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi  had made the promise at a reception for the team at Okpara Square, in Enugu. The governor also gave a cash gift of about N42m to the team.Amakapabo admitted that the cash gift had been received by the team.
