There is rising pandemonium in Benue State, youths burnt over 30 houses in inter-communal conflict between two neighbouring towns.

Beside the 30 houses, the youths also burnt vehicles, motorcycles, food stuff and livestock in both Apa Mbakor community in Tarka Local Government Area and Agasha Community in Guma Local Government Area, Benue state.

The incident which happened at about 10.00pm on Wednesday when suspected youths from Agasha community launched attack on the people of Apa mbakor community and displaced several residents, who ran away from their homes for safety.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Cletus Nwadiogbu, visited both communities on a fact-finding mission. The CP hads deployed detachment of two units of Police mobile forces to maintain law and public order and to prevent further breakdown of peace.

CP Nwadiogbu who engaged the council chairmen of both local government areas traditional rulers of these areas including youths and other stakeholders warned against reprisal attacks urging them to report any suspicious attacks to the police

The attack comes following disagreement over the burial of one of the indigene from Agasha community in Guma Local Government on his landed property in a neighboring Apa mbakor community in Tarka Local Government.

Youth from Apa mbakor covered the dug grave, preventing his people from burying the diseased, who owned the landed property.
