President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for Akwa Ibom State, beginning a two-state visit that will see him commission major infrastructure projects in Uyo before proceeding to Rivers State for an All Progressives Congress campaign rally.
The President travelled on Friday, November 6, accompanied by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, ahead of engagements with Governor Umo Eno and other political leaders in Akwa Ibom.
Eno had declared Friday a work-free day to enable residents to welcome the President during his visit.

Tinubu is expected to inaugurate eight projects executed by the Akwa Ibom Government, including the International Terminal Building, International Airport Hospital and Ibom Aviation Village at Victor Attah International Airport.
Other projects listed for commissioning are the Airport-Okopedi Road, Ring Road 3, AKWA-GIS Office Complex, Command and Control Centre and ARISE Palm Resort.
The Airport-Okopedi Road links communities in Nsit Atai and Okobo local government areas, while Ring Road 3 connects Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.
The presidential visit will also include political engagements as the APC intensifies mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Governor Eno declared the work-free day to give the President a “rousing reception”, according to a statement by Tinubu's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
After his engagements in Akwa Ibom, Tinubu is expected to travel to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday for another APC rally.
The Rivers rally will be his third campaign appearance since the ruling party flagged off his re-election campaign in Kaduna last month.
