Speaker Wins APC Re-Election Ticket In Benue

The Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Alfred Berger Emberga, at the primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC, won the party's return ticket for Makurdi - North State Constituency.

The returning Officer, Desmond Ator, announcing results at the collation center, declared the Speaker winner, having got the highest votes cast.

The Speaker expressed gratitude to God and his constituents for the support, promising to do more when elected.

APC State Chairman, Abubakar Dankeji, commended the peaceful conduct of the primary.

Meanwhile the lawmaker, representing Makurdi - South State Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Douglas Ackya, who is seeking a return ticket, alleged that the process was manipulated.
