Reps applaud security agencies
House of Representative has commended the security agencies in Imo state for their efforts to curtail the protracted crisis.
The House also urged the Inspector-General of Police and the Chief of Army staff to deploy more men to the entire border communities in Imo state.
The resolutions followed the adoption of a motion on the need to arrest the incessant killing of people and destruction of property by rival cult groups in Ohaji/Egbema local government area of Imo state, sponsored by Hon. Goodluck Opiah.
Opiah stressed the need for a development that will impact adversely on the economic fortunes of the nation.
The lawmaker furthered that he is determined to ensure an immediate end to the crisis that has led to the loss of lives and destruction of properties in the state.
The House mandated the committees on Police and Army to ensure implementation and report back in four weeks.
